Columbus Bar inc Program Welcomes New Attorneys

Heather Clingerman, Cedric Collins, Todd Olsen, and Anna Sanyal are getting acclimated to new offices and setting up practice. The attorneys are receiving training on various practice management and career related topics including managing trust accounts and general practice management. They will tour the local courts as well as the Supreme Court Law Library. In addition to educational sessions, the new attorneys are becoming acquainted with the program mentors and obtaining invaluable advice.

Heather Clingerman is a 2012 Capital University Law School graduate with clerkship experience at the court and a small (three member) firm. She interned at the Center for Adoption Law at Capital and plans to use her time in inc to increase her knowledge and build a thriving domestic law practice.

Cedric Collins is a 2012 CapLaw graduate. During his time as an evening student at Capital, Cedric worked for the Ohio Department of Youth Services as a legislative liaison. He plans to focus on several practice areas including government relations, juvenile law, estate planning, administrative law, and personal injury.

Todd Olsen is a 2010 graduate of Ohio Northern College of Law. Prior to hanging his shingle, Todd served as a volunteer staff attorney at the Marion Branch of the Legal Aid Society of Columbus. Todd intends to begin his practice in domestic relations, criminal defense, and landlord/tenant, and later expand his practice to include business services and estate planning.

Anna Sanyal is a 2012 CapLaw graduate. Prior to joining Columbus Bar inc, she worked for the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education. She has served as a clerk at two local law firms and in the Office of the Ohio Attorney General. Anna has chosen to focus on estate planning and small business law.

Since the incubator program began in 2011, several attorneys have transitioned into successful solo practices and new careers. Columbus Bar inc owes its success to the generous financial and time contributions of local bar members who serve as sponsors and mentors.
